The first stage starts at the city wall at the eastern exit of the old Krk town. Here is also a board located, showing the description of the two “olive trails”. The Franziskus track follows the shorter, eastern olive way to the village Kornic.
On a macadam road slightly uphill, through an underbridge under the main island street up to the olive gardens. After approx. 1,7 km we turn right at a gate. The way (macadam) runs slightly up and down direction Kornic. In Kornic we turn right and walk next the street down to the sea to a traffic circle,
(stone church Sv. Dunat ) and from there we walk next to the street on the promenade till Punat. Walking time approx. 2,5 h. The public bus brings us back to Krk.
Option: with a taxi boat from Punat to the island of Kosljun (40 kn), where we can visit the Franciscan monastery including a folkloristic museum (20 kn). We can optionally stood out on the return journey on the peninsula Prniba and walk in about 1h back to Krk (see the lower blue line in the graphic).
